Frankfort - Jesse Homer Hicks, 67, died in his home, 6 Blinn Avenue, at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of seven months. Born in Hendricks County, he was married in 1910 to Edith Osborn who died in 1944. His second marriage was in 1954 to Ida Schimmel. He moved to Frankfort from Lafayette in 1949 and was a tinsmith for the JW Ridgway Company. He was a member of Haw Creek Church of Christ at Ladoga. Surviving with the widow are five sons, Jesse O. and Leslie A. of Monticello, Lester V of Lafayette, Fred C of Dayton and Harold H. of Bossier City, La, and seven daughters, Mrs. Ethel Virden, Lafayette R 11, Mrs. Grace Taylor, Lafayette R 2, Mrs. Alice Brown, Wabash, Mrs. Inez Ewing, Turtle Lake, NC, Mrs. Helen Wamper, Wichita, Kans, Mrs. Donna Bromfield, Anderson and Mrs. Mabel Mutterspaugh, Linden. - kbz

Jesse Homer Hicks, 67, died at his residence at 6 Blinn Avew, Frankfort, at 1:15 a.m. Tues of complications following an illness of 7 months. Born in Hendricks Co, April 27, 1890, he was the son of Martin and Arnetta Peck Hicks. He was marr. to Edith Osborn on Sept 6, 1906 who died March 29, 1944. He marr. Ida Schimmel, Sept 18, 1954 who survives. Mr. Hicks wa sa member of the Haw Creek Church of Christ, Ladoga and before his illness had been employed as a tinsmith with the JW Ridgeway Co here. Surviving, in addition to his wife are five sons, Jesse O and Leslie A of Monticello, Lester V of Lafayette, Fred C of Dayton, Ind; and Harold H, Bossier City La; 7 daughters, Mrs. Ethel Virden, Rt 11 and Mrs. Grace Taylor, both of Lafayette; Mrs. Alice Brown, Wabash, mrs. Inez Ewing, Turtle Lake, ND; Mrs. Mable Mutterspaugh, Linden, Mrs. Helen Wampler, Wichita Kan and Mrs. Donna Bromfield of Anderson; 36 grandchildren and two great grandch. Mr. Hicks came to Frankfort in 1949 from Lafyette. Friends may call at the Hartman Fun Home where services will be held Thurs at 1:30 p.m. with Rev Frank Shockey and Rev. Oscar Cooper offic. Bur in Springvale Cem Lafayette.

He was born in hendricks Co April 27,1 890, the son of Martin and Arnetta (Peck) Hicks. Mr. hicks was married Sept 6, 1910, to Edith Osborn, who died March 29, 1944. Mr. Hicks was remarried Sept 18, 1954 to ida Schimmel. He is survived by the widow; five sons, Jesse O and Leslie A. of Monticello, Lester V, Lafayette, Fred C, Dayton, and Harold H, Bossier City, La; seven daughters, Mrs. Ethle Virden, Lafayette Rt. 2, Mrs. Alice Brown, Wabash, Mrs. Inez Ewing, Turtle Lake, ND, Mrs. Mable Mutterspuagh, Linden, Mrs. Helen Wampler, Wichita, Kansas and Mrs. Donna Bromfield, Anderson. There are also 36 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. mr. Hicks came to Frankfort from Lafayette in 1949. He was a member of the Haw Creek Church of Christ, Ladoga, Indiana, and until his last illness, was employed as a tinsmith. Services will be held at the Hartman Fun. home 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Frank Shockey and Oscar cooper will officiate. Interment will follow at Springboro cem, Lafayette. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.
